EPFO: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has changed the PF transfer process. Now employees can transfer their PF account online without the approval of their employer. This change is especially beneficial for employees who change jobs. Through this, employees can now update their personal information on the EPFO portal
EPFO: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has recently made a major change in the rules of Provident Fund transfer. As per the instructions of January 15, 2025, now members can transfer their PF account online in certain cases, that too without the approval of their old or new employer. These reforms will make it simpler than ever to claim online transfer, which will reduce delays and make the process more effective. This initiative has been taken especially to provide relief to employees changing jobs. Now this process can be completed with the help of Aadhaar and other necessary documents.
Employees can now correct the mistakes in their personal information like name, date of birth, spouse’s name, marital status, nationality, gender and date of employment through the EPFO portal.
What is the eligibility for PF transfer
To avail this new facility, you must fulfil these conditions
1. UAN linked to Aadhaar: Your Universal Account Number (UAN) must be linked and verified with Aadhaar.
2. KYC: Your account details, such as Aadhaar, PAN and bank account, must be verified in the EPFO system.
3. EPFO Account: Both your old and new PF accounts must be managed by EPFO.
4. Verified Date of Exit: The last date of your previous employer record in your old company should be updated on the EPFO portal.
How to transfer online
Step 1: First of all go to EPFO member portal.
Step 2: Login to your account by entering your UAN and password.
Step 3: After this, go to the ‘Online Services’ tab and click on the ‘One Member – One EPF Account (Transfer Request)’ option.
Step 4: After this, verify the details related to the existing PF account along with personal details.
Step 5: After verifying the details of the PF account, click on the Last PF Account Detail option.
Step 6: Select either your previous employer or current employer to verify the form.
Step 7: After this, click on the Get OTP option for OTP on the mobile number registered with UAN.
Step 8: After entering the OTP, click on Submit Transfer Request.
Step 9: After submitting the application, you will be able to monitor the status of your transfer request by going to ‘Track Claim Status’.
Step 10: Your company will approve your EPF transfer request through the employer interface of the unified portal.
