 Jalandhar 

The city of Jalandhar in Punjab is named after the demon ‘Jalandhar’. In ancient times, this city used to be the capital of ‘Jalandhar Rakshasa’.

Gaya

The city of Bihar, Gaya, is named after the demon ‘Gaiasur’. According to the beliefs, when the Asuras started reaching heaven, Lord Narayana asked his body from Gaiasur for a yajna through Brahma Ji to stop him. It is said that the whole city is the body of the five Kos of this monster.

Palwal

Palwal is a major city of Haryana. It is named after the demon ‘Palambasura’. In ancient times, this city was also called Palambarpur. Over time, the name changed to Palwal.

Tamil Nadu
