According to the report, there were 67 passengers and 5 crew members on board the Azerbaijan Airlines plane. Many people are feared dead in the accident. A video of the incident has also surfaced, in which the plane is seen coming down rapidly and a huge fireball is seen rising after hitting the ground.

Quoting Kazakhstan’s Emergency Ministry, the report said that fire brigades have been deployed to control the fire at the site of the plane crash. At present, information about the victims is being collected. According to initial information, some people have survived the accident.

25 people were rescued in the accident

Kazakhstan’s Transport Ministry said that there were 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 citizens of Russia, 6 citizens of Kazakhstan and 3 citizens of Kyrgyzstan on board the plane. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov expressed grief over the plane crash on his Telegram channel and claimed that 25 people were rescued alive in the accident.

The plane was coming from Chechnya, Russia

Russian news agencies said Azerbaijan Airlines was operating the plane. It was flying from Baku in Chechnya, Russia to Grozny. Its route was changed due to fog in Grozny. Kazakhstan’s Emergency Ministry has confirmed the change of route. Azerbaijan Airlines has not yet commented on the accident. The accident happened near the airport. Before this, the plane made several circles and requested an emergency landing.

The injured are being treated

Kazakh authorities have said the causes of the accident, including a possible technical problem, are being investigated. The Emergency Ministry later said fire services had extinguished the fire that broke out after the accident and the survivors were being treated at a nearby hospital.

Data from Flight Radar24, a website that monitors flights, showed the plane was flying over the Caspian Sea and heading towards its destination. The plane entered Russia’s territorial border and began circling near the airport. The plane crashed near the Caspian Sea coast a few kilometers from the airport.
