New Delhi. Managing the crowd at railway stations and trains during Diwali and Chhath Puja is a big challenge for the railway administration (Indian Railway). Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to ban the sale of platform tickets at major railway stations for a few days. Only passengers with confirmed train tickets will be allowed to go to the platform.
Ticket sale banned at these stations
Platform tickets will not be sold at New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal, Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Ghaziabad railway station from October 25 to November 6. Officials say that relatives of passengers also reach with platform tickets to help them board the train. This increases the crowd.
Steps taken to reduce crowd at the station
The number of passengers increases during festival days. In this situation, this step has been taken to prevent other people from coming to the platform. This will help in crowd management. Elderly, women and illiterate passengers have been exempted from this restriction, so that they do not face any problem.
