PM Awas Yojana: The allottees will soon get possession of the Prime Minister’s houses built in Manbela by the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Urban, but after getting the possession, the house will not be sold. According to the present arrangement, possession of the house will be given after a registered agreement on a stamp of Rs 500 but it cannot be freehold. The allottee will have to stay at his own residence. No decision has been taken on free hold yet. The GDA officials are still waiting for the guidelines for the free hold.
On behalf of GDA, 1488 houses have been built under the Prime Minister’s residence in Manbela. GDA has completed the construction work. Facilities related to electricity, water and drainage have also been provided. Painting and tiles work from inside has also been completed. Attractive painting work is being done on the boundary wall and walls outside. This scheme housing has been built on GDA land. In this, Rs 2.50 lakh is being given by the government while Rs 2 lakh is being given by the allottee. To get possession, the allottees will have to sign an agreement on a stamp of Rs 500. As per the terms of the agreement, this accommodation will not be freehold. Unless a property is freehold, it cannot be bought or sold.
40 people have made full payment
So far 40 allottees have made full payment. Many people have paid more than 50 per cent. There are also some allottees who have not been able to deposit the installments regularly due to poor financial conditions. In this scheme, the allottee had to pay 50 thousand rupees at the time of allotment. After that the remaining Rs 1.50 lakh was to be paid in six installments of Rs 25-25 thousand. These installments are kept interest free. For the convenience of the people, the installment is to be paid once in three months. The last installment time is January 2022.
The construction of the Prime Minister’s residence has been completed. It will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister. The allottee will have to get the agreement done on a stamp of Rs 500. After that they will be able to live in residences. Accommodations will not be freehold as of now.
