PM Awas Yojana: Big News! Scheme increased for 3 years, 1.50 crore houses will be built in villages

PM Awas Yojana: The Central Government launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 2016. 1.95 lakh crore has been spent in this scheme till March 2021. Out of this, Rs 1.44 lakh crore has been spent by the central government.

The Union Cabinet has decided to extend the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PM Awas Yojana-Gramin) for three years. This scheme ended in November this year, but the target of Pucca Ghar for all was not achieved. Now under this scheme, the target is to build about 1.50 crore houses in the coming three years.

So far 1.65 crore families have got benefits

Union Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information after the cabinet meeting held this week under the leadership of the Prime Minister. He said that while launching the scheme, a target of building 2.95 crore pucca houses in rural India was fixed, but so far only 1.65 crore houses have been built. The families in rural India who have not yet got the benefit of this scheme, will be covered in the next three years.

2.17 lakh crore approved for three years

The Central Government launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 2016. 1.95 lakh crore has been spent in this scheme till March 2021. Out of this, Rs 1.44 lakh crore has been spent by the central government. 2.17 lakh crore has been approved for the next three years. The central government will spend about Rs 1.60 lakh crore in this.

This is the goal of the government

The government’s goal is that every family in rural India should have a pucca house, in which basic facilities like electricity and water are available. 12-12 thousand rupees are also being given by the government to the needy families in rural India for toilets. This help is being given under the Swachh Bharat Yojana.
