The applicant must be an Indian citizen. He should not have any permanent house in his own name or in the name of any family member. The income of people belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) should be up to Rs 3 lakh per year.
People belonging to Low Income Group (LIG) should have an income between Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh per year.
People belonging to middle income group (MIG-1) should have an income between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 12 lakh per year.
People belonging to middle income group (MIG-2) should have an income between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 18 lakh per year.
How to apply for PMAY program?
The previous deadline to apply for the scheme was March 31, 2023. However, recently the government has extended the deadline for PMAY-U till December 31, 2024. To apply for the scheme, applicants can apply online by visiting the official PMAY portal. After entering the required information, they can submit the form making their application.
