Those beneficiaries who are not provided residence land by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, are given funds from the Chief Minister Residence Purchase Assistance Scheme. It was revealed in the audit that the amount was given, but the benefit of housing was given to some beneficiaries without getting the land registered.
It was told that this would raise questions on the ownership of the house. In some cases, despite taking money, either the land was not purchased at all or it was purchased quite late. Also, it has been advised to grant housing approval only after registration of the land in the name of the beneficiary.
