Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM Awas Yojana has become a boon for those who wish to buy a house. It was started on 1st April 2019 and this scheme is applicable till 31st March 2022. Through this scheme, the applicants under the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) will be given interest benefit on the home loan, which can be up to a maximum of Rs 2.67 lakh.




The loan tenure under this scheme can be of 20 years. These loans can be availed on EWS, LIG, MIG-l and MIG-II. Under this scheme, so far 113.56 lakh people of the country have been housed. At the same time, 87.95 lakh houses are being built and 50.83 lakh houses have been completed. According to the government, about seven and a half lakh crores will be spent on this scheme.

In the year 2014, the government had approved the construction of 1.13 crore houses. In this, 50 lakh houses have been given to the poor so far. The special thing is that about 80 percent of the houses are owned by women or both.
