PM Awas Yojana: Lakhs of rupees grabbed in the name of 21 ineligible people in PM Awas Yojana, two BDO suspended, investigation against CDO

Two BDOs have been suspended in the case of embezzlement of lakhs of rupees from the account of 21 ineligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas (Rural) Scheme in Chimouli village of Maudha development area in Hamirpur. Not only this, investigations have been ordered against the then CDO. On Thursday, the order of Additional Chief Secretary was stirred. 




In Chimouli village, a big scam has been done with the connivance of the officials in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In 2018-19, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas (Gramin) Yojana, an amount of lakhs of rupees was withdrawn from the account of 21 ineligible beneficiaries with the connivance of Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Development Officer, Computer Operator.

The scam was carried out during the then BDO Vijay Shankar Shukla and in charge BDO Ratnesh Singh. BDO Vijay Shankar Shukla is currently posted at Gohand in the district while Ratnesh Singh is posted as District Training Officer at District Rural Development Training Institute Maudha.

In the initial investigation of the case, the Gram Panchayat Development Officer has already been suspended while taking action against the computer operator and his services were terminated. An FIR has been lodged in Maudha Kotwali regarding the scam. The head of Chhimouli village is also nominated.

At the same time, the government took the whole matter seriously. Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh on Wednesday evening suspended Gohan BDO Vijay Shankar Shukla and District Training Officer Ratnesh Singh in this case. Both officers have been associated with Commissioner Village Development Uttar Pradesh Lucknow.

Apart from this, orders have been ordered against the then CDO RK Singh. For this, Joint Development Commissioner Chitrakoot Dham Banda Mandal has been appointed as investigating officer. CDO RK Singh has retired. Therefore, separate charge sheets will be prepared against them. An amount of Rs 23.60 lakh has also been recovered after the matter was exposed. As soon as the letter of action came on Thursday, there was a stir in the department throughout the day.
