PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana 2021: Along with making medical arrangements to protect people from corona infection, the UP government of the state is busy preparing for giving free ration to the people.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, an additional 5 kg (rice / wheat) per person is to be given free of cost in May and June across the country. Under this scheme, the state government will give 5 kg additional food grains (rice / wheat) per person in May and June to 14.5 million people on more than three and a half crore ration card holders in the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wants that there should be no shortage in this task of distribution of ration. He has also conveyed his intention to the authorities. In such a situation, now the officials of the Food and Logistics Department have started making arrangements to provide ration to four and a half crore people in the state.
It is not an easy task to distribute rations by following the Corona Protocol to crores of ration card holders amid the fierce wave of corona infection. There are 3 crore 55 lakh ration card holders in the state and distributes ration once a month to four and a half to fourteen crore people. The Food Department of the state gives ration at the subsidized rate of two rupees per kg and rice of three rupees per kg to three and a half crores of beneficiaries on three and a half crore ration cards. This ration is distributed between 01 and 12 of every month through 80 thousand ration shops in the state.
For this, lifting of seven and a half lakh metric tons of food grains has to be done every month. This ration, which is distributed under the National Food Security Act, is distributed through the Food Corporation of India (FCI) godowns and through 80,000 government-owned cheap shops in the state. Three kilograms of wheat and two kilograms of rice are available on every unit in every cycle of distribution. 75 lakh quintals of grain are distributed in UP in a cycle every month. This task of distribution of ration has always been a challenging task. Now due to Corona crisis, there is a need to be more vigilant to do this work.
State Principal Secretary Food and Logistics Veena Kumari Meena said that according to the strategy he has prepared for this, ration distribution will be done under the corona protocol under the supervision of a nodal officer at every ration shop. Under which all ration card holders will get ration and secure ration. There will not be any crowd and there will be no uproar, because adequate arrangements have been made to distribute enough wheat and rice to every ration shop.
Ration will be distributed through biometric authentication from ration shops at ration shops. During the lockdown last year, ration was distributed only through this technology. Online monitoring of ration to be distributed in May and June will also be done. Department officials say that ration distribution and supply chain management is fully computerized. E-Pos machines are operated through software. It is all made up of a dashboard. Through this, the news of distribution of rations comes every moment. Through this dashboard, the complete information of every shop and every single ration card can be seen in UP.
It is through this system that the officers of the Food Department claim that they will be successful in providing ration to every ration card holder as per the intention of the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister will not tolerate any kind of lethargy in this matter.
For this, the list of those eligible for maintenance / nutrition should be updated. The Chief Minister said that similarly the system of ration distribution work should be reviewed. Allowance distribution will be done directly through the DBT system to the bank account. Work was done in this regard on the instructions of the Chief Minister and now under the preparations made by the Food and Logistics Department in the same order, 14 and a half crore people were given more than three and a half crore ration card holders in May and June under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana Ration will be provided for free.
