Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been extended for five years. The good news is that now the benefits of the scheme will be given even if one has a motorcycle. Earlier, the beneficiary was excluded from the scheme if he had a motorcycle. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, one lakh families in Hardoi district have been given the benefit of the scheme.

Jagran correspondent, Hardoi. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, launched to provide housing to homeless families, has been extended for five years. According to the order issued, now under the Pradhan Mantri Yojana, eligible persons will be selected till 2028-29 and they will be given assistance to build houses.

Project Director Rural Development Agency Prem Tripathi said that as soon as the instructions of the government are received, the survey of homeless eligible families will be started. The Project Director said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, two crore families in the country will be given the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Eligible families will be surveyed to benefit under the housing scheme. Those homeless families found in the Socioeconomic Survey 2011 and Awas Plus Survey 2018 conducted earlier under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will also be benefited, who have not been able to avail the benefits of the scheme till now due to some reasons.

You will get the benefit of the scheme even if you have a motorcycle

The project director said that under the new guidelines, if any member of a homeless family has a motorcycle, he will also be given the benefit of the scheme. Earlier, if any member of the family had a motorcycle, he was excluded from the scheme, however, this will not happen now.

Among other conditions, if the family has a three-wheeler or four-wheeler vehicle for agricultural use, then the family will not be able to take advantage of the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. If the family has a Kisan Credit Card of 50 thousand or more, if there are government employees in the family, if the family is registered in non-agricultural enterprises, if the income is 15 thousand or more in a month, if the family pays income tax, professional tax, if there is two and a half acres of irrigated land or five acres or more of non-irrigated land, then the family will be excluded from the eligibility category.
