New Delhi. To help small and marginal farmers, the Modi government started the ‘Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme’. The scheme launched by PM Modi himself nearly 3 years ago has also been breached. Now, a total of 33 lakh such beneficiaries have been detected in different states, who, despite not completing the qualification, were taking advantage of this scheme. These unqualified beneficiaries have spent about two and a half thousand crore rupees on the government exchequer. The central government has already asked such unqualified people to recover. These include beneficiaries of a total of 18 states and union territories including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The recovery process is yet to be started in some states.
The government, while showing strictness, has also indicated that there could be a fall on the laparwah officers and employees who verify the documents of these commission beneficiaries. Under the PM-Kisan scheme, small and marginal farmers are given Rs 2-2 thousand every four months. In this way, 6 thousand rupees per year is provided to the eligible farmers by the government. For this, the Central Government has set some qualifications, which have to be sent to the states for the farmers who have completed them.
People who deposit income tax also availed the scheme
Under this scheme, under the verification process, a total of 32,91,152 ineligible farmers have been found who were taking advantage of this scheme even after not having qualification. The money of the PM-Kisan scheme has been transferred to the bank account of these farmers. During verification, matching of PAN number and Aadhaar number has shown that there are also farmers who collect income tax. This means that their income comes from any other source other than agriculture. Similarly, government and non-government jobs and pensioners are also taking advantage of this scheme.
