Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 10th installment of financial benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme through video conferencing on January 1 at 12:30 pm. Information in this regard has been given from the Prime Minister’s Office.

With this, more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families will be transferred to more than 20,000 crore accounts.
Last year the installment under this scheme was released on December 25. A total of Rs 18,000 crore was released under the scheme benefiting 9 crore farmers. The money is deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiary farmers.
Under the scheme an income support of Rs 6,000 per year is given in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each to all landholding farmer families every fourth month. However, for this certain categories of beneficiaries in high economic status are not eligible under the scheme. These include, all institutional landholders, former and present holders of constitutional posts, former and present ministers, ministers of state and former or present members of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, State Legislative Assemblies, State Legislative Councils, former and present mayors of municipal corporations, former and the present President of Zilla Panchayats.
Other categories not covered under the scheme include all serving or retired officers and employees of Central, State Government Ministries, Offices, Departments and its field units, Central or State Public Sector Undertakings and Autonomous Institutions with attached offices under Government- Along with regular employees of the local body (except Multi Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D Employees), all retired/retired pensioners having monthly pension of Rs.10,000/- or more (Multi Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D Employees of the above category) All persons paying income tax in the previous assessment year vi) Professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, and architects registered with professional bodies and practicing practices.
