In the budget, food processing should take interest incentives, lower taxes, use of technology and measures for its promotion.

The budget for agriculture was also increased in the last financial year

The allocation for the agriculture sector was estimated to be around Rs 1.51 lakh crore in FY 2019-20, which rose marginally to Rs 1.54 lakh crore in the next year ie FY 2020-21. Apart from this, an allocation of Rs 1.44 lakh crore was made in the financial year 2020-21 for rural development. In its first financial year (2019-20), it was Rs 1.40 lakh crore. The amount of allocation under the Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme was increased from Rs 9,682 crore in 2019-20 to Rs 11,217 crore in 2020-21.

Small farmers benefit from this scheme

PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a scheme to get 100% funds by the central government. The scheme was started by the Central Government from December 2018, under which small and marginal farmers are transferred 6,000 rupees annually to their bank accounts. This scheme can be availed by the farmers who do not have more than 2 hectares of land. State governments and union territories identify eligible farmers under this scheme. On 25 December 2020, PM Modi transferred about 18,000 crore rupees to the account of 9 crore farmers.

Seven installments received so far in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

The central government has so far released money in 7 installments under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. So far, an amount of Rs 95,000 crore has been released to 10.60 crore farmers under this scheme. Under this scheme, money is transferred to the account during the period April-July, August-November and December-March. According to the information given on the website of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, 11.47 crore farmers have benefited under this scheme. The scheme was launched in December 2018.

These farmers will not get the benefit of this scheme

Farmers who are former or present constitutional post holders, current or former ministers, mayors or Zilla Panchayat presidents, MLAs, MLCs, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs will be considered out of this scheme. Even if they do farming.




Officers in the central or state government and farmers receiving more than 10 thousand pension are not benefited. The rest will be eligible.

Professionals, doctors, engineers, CAs, lawyers, architects, whoever does farming, will not get any benefit.

Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV / Group D employees of Central and State Government will get benefits.
