Budget 2021: A major allocation of Rs 65,000 crore has been made for PM-Kisan, under which the government provides Rs 6,000 in three equal installments to the registered farmers.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has been allocated a budget allocation of Rs. 1,31,531 crore i.e. 5.63 percent more for the year 2021-22 and half of it spent on the Prime Minister-Kisan Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana) While the availability of funds for agro-infrastructure fund and irrigation programs has been increased marginally. According to Budget 2021-22 (Budget 2021-22) presented in the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the revised budget of the Ministry of Agriculture is estimated to be Rs 1,24,519 crore for the current financial year 2020-21.
Of the total allocation made to the Ministry for the next financial year, Rs 1,23,017.57 crore has been given to the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rs 8,513.62 crore to the Department of Agricultural Research and Education. According to the budget document, the allocation for 10 central schemes has been marginally increased to Rs 1,05,018.81 crore in the current financial year 2021-22, marginally higher than the revised estimate of Rs 1,03,162.30 crore for the current fiscal.
In the
major central schemes of Rs 1500 crore given for PM Asha, a major allocation of Rs 65,000 crore has been made for PM-Kisan, under which the government provides Rs 6,000 in three equal installments to the registered farmers.
The allocation for the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Income Promotion Scheme (PM-ASHA) has been increased to Rs 1,500 crore for the next financial year, which according to the revised estimate is Rs 996 crore for the financial year 2020-21.

Similarly, the allocation for formation and promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) has been increased from Rs 250 crore to Rs 700 crore, while the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund has been increased from Rs 208 crore to Rs 900 crore.
Apart from the ten central schemes, the government has also allocated funds for regulatory and autonomous bodies.
Apart from this, the government has allocated funds for 18 centrally sponsored schemes, under which states and union territories are given funds for implementation.
For example, the allocation for Pradhan Mantri Krishi Irrigation Yojana (PMKSY) – ‘more crop per drop’ has been increased from the revised estimate of Rs 2,563 crore for the year 2020-21 to Rs 4,000 crore.
For other related ministries, the government has increased the allocation for the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy from the revised estimate of Rs 3,918.31 crore to Rs 4,820.82 crore for the current fiscal.
The document states that the allocation for the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has also been marginally increased to Rs 1,308.66 crore for the year 2021-22 from Rs 1,247.42 crore earlier.
