This is because under this scheme money is transferred to the bank account of the farmers under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). For DBT, it is mandatory for the bank account to be linked with Aadhaar. However Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir are exempted from this.
According to the conditions, government employees and payers of income tax cannot avail the benefit of PM Kisan Yojana. If the farmers who pay the tax are not eligible for it. This scheme benefits farmers with land holdings up to two hectares.
Apart from these, doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, lawyers, architects, current or former ministers, mayors, district panchayat presidents, MLAs, MLCs, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members have also not been considered eligible for the scheme.
