The name of this scheme is the launch of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY). The scheme provides for a minimum payment of Rs 3,000 per month to eligible small and marginal farmers at the age of 60 years. It is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme, in which the age of admission is 18 to 40 years. Let us tell you that more than 21 lakh beneficiaries have been registered under this scheme so far.
This scheme can connect only those farmers who have cultivable land up to 2 hectares. Apart from this, it is mandatory to have an Aadhaar Card and Saving Bank Account or PM-KISAN Account. If the spouse does not want to continue the scheme then the total contribution amount along with interest will be paid. If there is no husband or wife, the nominee will be paid the contribution amount along with interest. If the beneficiary dies after the date of retirement, 50% of the pension amount will be given to his wife as family pension.
