16 years ago, the UPA government led by Manmohan Singh decided during the tsunami crisis that India can now fight on its own, so no foreign help will be accepted. But now the situation is that Modi government is ready to take help from Bangladesh and China too.
On Thursday, India’s Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla defended the decision to accept foreign aid and told journalists that the government will do whatever needs to be done to meet the needs of the people.
