PM POSHAN scheme: Government’s vision on ‘health’, this new scheme launched for ‘nutrition’ of children

New Delhi: Union Cabinet Meeting: An important cabinet meeting was held today under the chairmanship of PM Modi in which many big decisions have been taken. Piyush Goyal and Anurag Thakur have informed the media about the decision taken in today’s meeting. Anurag Thakur told that the cabinet has decided to start PM nutrition scheme.




Big decision taken in cabinet meeting

Significantly, on Tuesday, a meeting of the Council of Ministers was held under the chairmanship of PM Modi. Many important aspects were discussed in this. At the same time, many resolutions have been passed in today’s meeting. Anurag Thakur told that today the cabinet has decided to start PM nutrition scheme. Under this scheme, children of more than 11.2 lakh government schools will get free food for the day.

New scheme will replace mid-day meal

This scheme will be run for 5 years. For this, the government has decided to spend Rs 1.31 lakh crore. Let us tell you that this scheme will replace the current mid-day meal scheme. The central government will run this scheme with the help of state governments. But mainly all the responsibility will be of the central government.




PM-POSHAN scheme launched

The central government has started the PM-Poshan scheme. This will benefit the children of more than 11.2 lakh government schools across the country. Addressing the media, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that this scheme will run for 5 years and Rs 1.31 lakh crore will be spent in it. Apart from this, the Union Cabinet has approved continuation of National Export Insurance Account (NEIA) scheme and grant-in-aid of Rs 1,650 crore over 5 years.
