New Delhi: The Prime Minister’s Suraksha Bima Yojana was launched by the Narendra Modi government at the Center in the year 2015.
This is a Government Accidental Policy (Personal Accident Insurance Scheme). Under this scheme, the amount of insurance will be provided to the family in the event of the death of the insured person in an accident or becomes disabled in the accident.

What are the benefits of this scheme
Under this scheme, the insured gets three benefits. Under this scheme, if the insured person dies in an accident, an amount of Rs 2 lakh is provided to the nominee.
If the insured person loses his eyesight or becomes handicapped in any way in the accident, then an amount of Rs 1 lakh is provided to him.
This scheme automatically gets renewed every year. This insurance scheme is valid for one year from 1st June to 31st May.
Who can avail the benefit of this policy
Any person whose age is between 18 to 70 years can apply for this policy.
To avail this policy, the applicant must have a savings bank account.
You have to allow deduction of premium from your bank account to avail this policy.
How to avail this policy
To activate the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana from your bank account, you must first log in to the internet banking of the bank.
You have to activate this scheme by going to your savings bank account.
How premium will be deducted
On registering under this policy, a premium of Rs 12 is deducted from your account every year between May 25 and May 31.
This amount will be automatically deducted from your account every year under auto renewal. This amount will continue to be deducted from your account till you get it closed.
