According to the government, the target of the free electricity scheme is to illuminate one crore houses and under this, 300 units of free electricity is being given every month. In this scheme, solar panels are installed on the roofs of the houses and in order to reduce the cost burden, the government also sends subsidy to the accounts of the people applying for this scheme, which is decided according to the meter capacity. This much subsidy in PM Surya Ghar

According to the subsidy given by the government for installing solar panels in this government scheme which provides 300 units of free electricity, if you want to install 2kW rooftop solar in your house, then according to the calculator available on the website, the total project cost for this will be Will be Rs 47000. But there will be a subsidy of Rs 18000 from the government on this. In this way the customer will have to pay Rs 29000 for installing rooftop solar.

According to the rules, there should be 130 square feet space for this. The solar plant, built at a cost of Rs 47,000, will generate 4.32 Kwh/day of electricity every day, which comes to 1576 kWh/year annually. With this, the customer will save Rs 12.96 daily, and Rs 4730 in a year.

If your rooftop area is 700 square feet, then you will have to apply for a 3 kilowatt panel and your investment for installing a meter and solar panel of this capacity will be Rs 80,000. At the same time, the amount of subsidy received from the government will increase to Rs 36,000. That means you will have to spend only Rs 50,000 from your pocket for this. The maximum subsidy amount on meters with capacity greater than this is up to Rs 78,000.

This work is necessary to get subsidy

While this gift given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi government will illuminate the houses of the beneficiaries, the expenditure of the government will be around Rs 75,000 crore. To avail the benefits of this scheme, the applicant must be a resident of India. Along with this, poor and middle income families having their own houses can apply for this. Yes, after the net meter is installed, after verification by DISCOM, a commissioning certificate will be issued to you from the portal, which will mean that now you have applied under this scheme. But to avail subsidy you will have to upload a document. After issuance of the certificate, bank account details and canceled check will have to be submitted on the portal. After this the subsidy will be sent to your bank account.

The method of application is very easy

  • First of all go to the official website https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in and select Apply for Rooftop Solar.
  • Now select your state and name of electricity distribution company. Then enter your electricity consumer number, mobile number and email.
  • After this, login on the new page by entering consumer number and mobile. When the form opens, apply for rooftop solar panels as per the guidelines given in it.
  • After completing this process, you will get feasibility approval, after which you will be able to get the plant installed from any vendor registered with your DISCOM.
  • After solar panel installation, in the next step you will have to apply for net meter along with plant details.
