Punjab National Bank (PNB) has increased the charges of various services and the bank has recently informed about it. With effect from 15.01.2022, the Bank is going to increase the charges on certain services related to regular banking operations.
Minimum balance
Quarterly average balance limit has been increased from 5,000 to 10,000 in the metro region.
Charges for not maintaining minimum balance in the account
The fee for non-maintenance of minimum balance has been increased to Rs 400 in rural areas and Rs 600 in urban and metro areas on quarterly basis.
Bank locker fee
The bank has also increased its locker rental charges in rural, semi urban, urban and metro areas. The locker fee in urban areas has been increased by Rs 500.
Bank locker free visit
The number of free visits will be reduced to 12 every year from January 15, 2021, with a fee of Rs 100 per visit thereafter. Earlier, the number of locker visits per year was fixed at 15 free visits per year.
Closing current accounts
Current accounts which get closed after 14 days will have to pay a fine of Rs 800. Earlier it was Rs 600. However, accounts that are closed after 12 months will not be charged any fees.
Transaction fees in savings accounts
From January 15, PNB customers can do 3 free transactions every month, thereafter Rs 50 per transaction will be charged (excluding alternate channels like BNA, ATM and CDM), which is not applicable for senior citizen accounts.
Cash handling charges
The bank has also reduced its cash deposit limit on both savings and current accounts. The free deposit limit per day has been reduced to Rs 1 lakh from the existing Rs 2 lakh.
