Looking at social distancing in the Corona era, new ways of payments are being seen. In this episode, Punjab National Bank (PNB-Punjab National Bank), the country’s second largest government bank, has also introduced an e-card for its customers. This card is a digital replica of the physical card. Through this, PNB consumers can use PNB e-cards on any e-commerce platform or merchant website, they do not need to carry physical cards.

According to the information released by PNB, PNB customers can take the information of PNB e-card using the e-Card facility in the PNB Genie Mobile app.
To use it, the existing PNB customer needs to update their PNB Genie app. This app gives customers the facility of e-card activation for international and domestic use.

What is PNB’s E-Card
E or virtual card is a limit based debit card. Through this, the bank is created through internet banking facility for e-commerce transactions (on-line). It is valid for a day or two. It can be prepared anytime.
These benefits are available free on PNB e-card
Its use is quite safe. Because other cards do not have to appear like credit / debit cards. Also, their information is not given to the merchant (shopkeeper-petrol pump, from where you are shopping).
The card is valid for 48 hours or till the end of the transaction (whichever is earlier). After that it stops.
The card is valid only by OTP for online transactions and this OTP also comes on the customer’s phone. That is why fraudsters cannot harm your account.
This card facilitates transactions with your internet banking linked accounts. The card can be used at any online merchant that accepts debit / credit cards.
No separate set-up / installation or registration is required for this work. Also, any customer who has transaction rights in Internet banking facility can create his virtual card.
SBI also makes e-card
The country’s largest government bank SBI (SBI-State Bank of India) also provides e-card facility to its customers. This card is also made through Internet banking.
