Why Essential Sukanya Samriddhi Account
It has been told by PNB that in the coming time your daughter will have many opportunities to fly. Keeping his safe future in mind, Sukanya Samriddhi account must be opened. Through this scheme, you can secure the tomorrow of your daughters. Under the scheme, a parent or guardian can open only one account in the name of a daughter. If you have two daughters, two accounts can be opened in their name.
How much is the interest rate
In PNB, you have to deposit a minimum of 250 rupees to open an account linked to this scheme. Apart from this, maximum you can deposit up to Rs 1,50,000. At present, interest was being paid at the rate of 7.6 percent in this scheme. This interest is with income tax rebate. Earlier, people got 9.2 percent interest under this scheme.
How and where to open account
Under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, you can open an account in any branch of PNB. Apart from this, this account can also be opened in an authorized branch of a post office or commercial branch.
How long can this account be run?
Reactivation can take place up to 15 years after the account is opened. Girl child can be operated till the age of 21 or after the marriage of 18 years of age. If a minimum deposit of Rs 250 is not deposited every year, the account will be closed and can be revived with a penalty of Rs 50 per year along with the minimum amount required for the deposit for that year.
Which documents are important
You will need documents like Sukanya Samriddhi account opening form, child’s birth certificate, parent or guardian identity card like PAN card, ration card, driving license, passport ration card, electricity bill, telephole bill. You can also use net-banking to deposit money. Once the account is open, you will get a passbook from the post office or bank in which you have opened the account.
