Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY) is one of the most effective schemes launched by the government of India. Affordable housing solutions are provided to the Poor people, and this scheme is for both rural and urban poor. The system’s main aim is to provide 2 crores of affordable housing by the end of 31st March 2022.
This Yojana is generally divided into two parts-
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)- PMAY-U
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural/Gramin)- PMAY-G
The main focus of the PMAY-U is on providing access to better homes for the Urban poor, whereas the PMAY-G aims to provide better housing for the rural people of India.
Later on, this scheme is merged with other schemes also to maintain the quality of living of the poor people of India, and this scheme is merged with other schemes as follows-
- Merged to ensure that the houses will be compulsory to have toilets.
- Merged with the Saubhagya Yojana to ensure electrical connection to the houses.
- Merged with Ujwalla Yojana to ensure LPG connection to the houses.
- And many more schemes like providing drinking water and Jan Dhan banking facilities.
By the end of 2019, it is reported that around 1.12 crore houses were built against/under this scheme.

Eligibility of PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana)

- The applicant must be a citizen of India
- The annual Income of the applicant Must be between 5 lakhs to 18 lakhs.

The PMAY aims to provide housing solutions for the millions of urban and rural poor. The last date to apply for this PMAY scheme for the LIG and EWS Category is 31st March 2022. For the MIG(1 and 2) Category, it was 31st March 2019.

Page 1- here you need to enter your Aadhar Number, it will get verified from the UID database.
Page 2- here you need to enter the personal details of the applicant and other personal details such as a present address, family head, and other essential details.
The PM Awas Yojana can be applied via two categories, which are –
- Under other 3 component
- Slum Dweller

Step 1- open the official page of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana i.e. http://pmaymis.gov.in/
Step 2- log in using valid credentials.
Step 3- select the option of ‘benefits under other 3 components’ lying under the Citizen Assessment tab.
Step 4- Enter your Aadhar Number and click on the submit button.
Step 5- Now you will be redirected to another page where you need to enter your personal details in an online application form.

Step 1- go to the official website pmaymis.gov.in
Step 2- go to the Select beneficiary option and click on the search by name option in the drop-down menu.
Step 3- Enter your aadhar details.
