Under the Prime Minister Rural Housing Scheme 2021, the people of the weaker sections of rural areas will get financial assistance by the Government of India to build their own pucca house. Providing and realizing the dream of poor people to build their own pucca, the main focus of the government is to provide assistance of Rs 12000 to build a pucca toilet.

Under this scheme, financial assistance will be given for construction of 1 crore houses. The space for housing construction will be increased from 20 square meters to 25 square meters, including the kitchen area. Unit assistance is Rs 1.20 lakh in the plains and Rs 1.30 lakh in the hilly areas.
