Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: In the budget 2021, the government has made a new announcement about the scheme related to women, Ujjwala.




In the budget 2021, the government has given a new gift to women and said that 1 crore new families will be added to the Ujjwala scheme, which means that soon one crore women will be able to take advantage of the Ujjwala scheme. Let us tell you that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the government provides domestic LPG (LPG) connection to the families living below the poverty line.

What is Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme

Government of India will provide financial assistance of Rs. 1600 under Ujjwala scheme to every eligible BPL family under Ujjwala scheme.

This amount will be for purchasing LPG gas connection. Along with this, installment (EMI) can also be provided to cover the expenses incurred in buying the stove and filling LPG cylinders for the first time.

It was launched on 1 May 2016 in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. Under the PM Ujjwala scheme, the government provides domestic LPG (LPG) connections to families living below the poverty line.

The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (Ujjwala Yojana) is run in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Central Government. Grass-leaves are traditionally used with cooking wood and cow dung for cooking in rural areas. The smoke emanating from this has a bad effect on the health of women.

When and who will get the benefit of Ujjwala scheme

According to the 2011 census in the Ujjwala scheme, families who fall in the BPL (poor) category can get the benefit of the Ujjwala scheme. Under this Ujjwala scheme, there is a target of providing free LPG connections to a total of 8 crore BPL families.

How to apply for Pradhan Mantri  Ujjwala Yojana?

Any woman of BPL family can apply to get gas connection under Ujjwala scheme. For this, you have to fill the KyC form and submit it to the nearest LPG center.

For applying in Ujjwala scheme, a 2 page form, required documents, name, address, Jan Dhan bank account number, Aadhaar number etc. are required.




While applying, you also have to tell whether you want to take 14.2 kg cylinder or 5 kg.

Other important things for Ujjwala scheme

Applicant’s name should be in SECC-2011 data.

Applicant should be a woman whose age is not less than 18 years.

Women should be from BPL family.

It is mandatory for a woman to have a savings account in a national bank.

There should not be any LPG connection in the applicant’s house in the name of anyone.

Applicant should have BPL card and BPL ration card.
