Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that more than 1.25 crore youth have been trained through the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. The objective of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is to give training related to industries to the youth so that they can be helped in getting employment. This training is given free of cost to the youth.
The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) of the Government of India was launched in July 2015. The objective of the scheme is to provide employment to such people who are less educated or drop out of school in between. The main objective of the scheme is to organize all the youth in the country and improve their skills and give employment according to their ability. There is also a facility for the youth to take loans so that more and more people can join this scheme. In this scheme, registration is done for three months, six months and one year. Certificate is given after completing the course. This certificate is valid all over the country.
The third phase of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 3.0) has started from February 2021. In this scheme, 8 lakh youth will be given skill training. In this phase, Rs 948.90 crore will be spent on skill development scheme. According to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, PMKVY 3.0 has been launched in 717 districts of 28 states and eight union territories. Vocational training will be given to the youth at the initial stage of the scheme, so that they will be able to take advantage of opportunities related to the industry.
