Property Registration Fees Hike: Various fees charged by the Tamil Nadu Deed Registration Department have been hiked. The fare hike will be effective from today, July 10.
Commercial Taxes and Registration Department Secretary Jyoti Nirmala has issued a statement regarding this rate hike. Registration fee for Receipt Document is Rs. 20 has increased from Rs.200. The maximum registration fee for settlement, partition and release documents between family members has been increased from Rs.4000 to Rs.10,000.
At the same time, the registration fee for public authority documents without family members was Rs.10,000. Currently this fee is adjusted based on the market value of the property. That means it has been raised to a percentage of the value of the property.
The charges for various services charged by the Tamil Nadu Deed Registry Department have not been increased for more than 20 years. The Tamil Nadu government has announced that the service charges have now been increased.
Apart from this, the construction contract registration fee has also increased to 3 percent.
It is said that due to this fee hike, the cost of deed registration will increase and it will be an additional burden on the public.
