Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Only two days are left for the voting for the assembly elections in the capital Delhi. It would not be wrong to say that the countdown for Delhi elections has started. Delhi Assembly elections are to be held in a single phase. Its results will come on 8 February. At the same time, regarding the voting to be held on February 5, the question is arising in the minds of the people living in the capital that from schools-colleges to wine shops, what will remain open and what will remain closed on the day of voting.

What will remain open in Delhi elections

For February 5, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that metro services on all lines will start at 4 am for the convenience of voters and election staff. Metro trains will run at a time gap of 30 minutes till 6 am, after which the metro will run as usual.

At the same time, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will operate additional bus services on 35 routes from 4 am, so that voters can easily reach the waiting center.

All essential services will remain open during the elections including hospitals, pharmacies and other services. Apart from this, all everyday shops, grocery stores and food shops are expected to remain open so that people do not face any problem.

What will remain closed on the day of elections

As per the guidelines of the Election Commission, liquor shops will remain closed across the national capital. These liquor shops and licensed establishments will remain closed from 6 pm on February 3 to 6 pm on February 5.

Schools and colleges in Delhi will remain closed on the day of elections as voting centers have been set up in many schools. Apart from this, government offices and banks will remain closed on the day of polling to allow employees to cast their votes. Cinema halls and theaters will remain closed during the time of polling to encourage people to vote.
