Public Holiday: Big News! Banks and government offices will remain closed in these states on July 17, Check full list here

Public Holiday: In most states of the country, all banks, government offices and school colleges will remain closed on the occasion of Muharram on July 17. Whereas on Tuesday, July 16, all banks will remain closed on the occasion of Harela in Uttarakhand.

Public Holiday: Banks are going to be closed on Wednesday, July 17 in all the states of the country. Actually, the festival of Muharram is falling on 17 July 2024. In such a situation, there is a public holiday in all the states on this day. Muharram is celebrated as a grief of the martyrs of Karbala. On this day, people of the Shia community (men and women) wear black clothes and participate in the majlis of grief. During this, the battle of Karbala, the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his 72 companions is remembered. Apart from banks, colleges, schools and government offices are closed in all the states on the day of Muharram.

All banks will remain closed in these states

On Wednesday, banks will remain closed in Tripura, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, MP, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, UP, Bengal, New Delhi, Patna, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh. Whereas a day before this, on Tuesday 16 July, banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand on the occasion of Harela. Let us tell you that Harela is a festival celebrated by the Hindu community, which is celebrated in some areas of the hilly state of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Holidays coming this month

  • Banks will remain closed on 17th July on the occasion of Muharram.
  • Sunday, July 21 will be a weekly holiday.
  • July 27 is the fourth Saturday of the month.
  • Sunday, July 28 is a weekly holiday.

These facilities will continue on holidays

Let us tell you that in the month of July, there will be a total of 12 bank holidays. Out of these, 7 holidays have already fallen between 1st to 15th. While 5 holidays are going to fall in the coming days. In such a situation, before going to the bank, you must check the list of holidays once.
