Vasant Panchami 2025: There was a demand to declare a public holiday for three days for the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. This holiday has been demanded on two more dates besides Basant Panchami. Schools in Varanasi district of UP have been closed till February 5 due to Maha Kumbh. Here, teacher organizations have demanded to change the holiday of Vasant Panchami.

Demand to change the holiday of Vasant Panchami

UP Secondary Teachers’ Association has sent a letter to the Director of Secondary Education asking to change the date of Vasant Panchami holiday. The state president of the association Chet Narayan Singh has said that in the holiday schedule, the bath of Vasant Panchami is on February 2, but this bathing festival is declared on February 3. In such a situation, an order for holiday in schools should be issued on February 3. Apart from this, the letter has also demanded to declare holiday on Mauni Amavasya (January 29). State President of Teachers’ Association (Sharma Group) Suresh Kumar Tripathi has also demanded to declare holiday on February 3 instead of February 2.

Three days public holiday should be given for Maha Kumbh bath

The Vishisht BTC Teachers Welfare Association has written a letter to UP Chief Minister Yogi demanding three days public holiday for all the employees and teachers of the state for bathing with family and religious programs in Maha Kumbh, which is falling after 144 years. Association’s provincial president Santosh Tiwari and state secretary of the United Front Dilip Chauhan said that the state government should consider positively this demand of the association to participate in this historic Maha Kumbh.

Demand for public holiday

A demand has been made to the Chief Minister of UP to give public holiday on the upcoming important bathing days Mauni Amavasya, Basant Panchami, Maghi Purnima so that everyone can take a dip in the Maha Kumbh on this occasion. Classes from class 1 to 12 will be online In view of the crowd in Maha Kumbh, classes in Varanasi from class 1 to class 12 will be online till February 5. The District School Inspector has issued instructions. Instructions have been given to keep the schools closed and conduct studies online.
