The caption of the video reads, “This is crazy. A carpet python is hanging from a tree near Stu’s house, fully stretched out and holding a possum by the end of its nose. The snake hung for 12 hours Hanged on to the Possum! Crazy!”
The Instagram user also told what happened after Python maintained its position for about 12 hours. He shared, “Due to the weight and downward pressure on the teeth, the snake was not able to release its grip. Anyway, that was my theory. It is understandable that they have been hanging like this for 12 hours.
“I used a pool scoop to lift the weight of the possum and help lift the snake up to the tree,” he said. But, as I lifted the possum’s weight with the pool scoop, the snake shook its head and dropped it. The snake was feeling very relieved. Strange but interesting situation.
