If your seat is in the sleeper coach and you want to travel in the AC coach instead, then for this you will have to contact the TTE present in the coach and give your request. If the seat is vacant in the AC coach, then the TTE will allot that berth to you.
What is the rule?
In return for getting the seat upgraded, you will have to make the prescribed cash payment to the TTE as per the rules. It is worth noting that you can avail this seat upgrade system of the railways only when a berth is vacant in another coach. If no seat is vacant in that coach, then you will have to travel in the same coach in which you have been allotted a berth.
