Travelling in 563 local trains running under Northern Railway including Delhi is going to become cheaper from July 1. Currently, the minimum fare in these trains is Rs. 30.
There is a very good news for railway passengers. Travel in 563 local trains running under Northern Railway including Delhi is going to become cheaper from July 1. Currently, the minimum fare in these trains is Rs 30. From July 1, passengers will be able to travel at a minimum fare of Rs 10.
A list of trains has been issued from the Northern Railway Headquarters with instructions to the officials of all five divisions. The minimum fare in local trains running before Covid was only Rs 10. During the time of Covid, the operation of these trains was stopped by the Railways. After Corona, when the operation of trains started again, the numbers of these trains were changed and they were run as special trains, but the minimum fare in these trains was made Rs 30 instead of Rs 10. In February, the Railways changed the numbers of some of these trains and made the minimum fare in them Rs 10, but the numbers of most trains were not changed.
After the Lok Sabha elections are over, a list of 563 such trains has been issued by the Northern Railway Headquarters, whose numbers are being changed. These trains will now run on their pre-Corona numbers. The biggest benefit of this will be to daily commuters and they will be able to travel at a lower fare. This information and list of trains has been sent from the Northern Railway Headquarters to Delhi, Moradabad, Firozpur, Lucknow and Ambala divisions.
Daily passengers were demanding from the railways
Balkrishna Amarsaria, associated with the Daily Passenger Association, Delhi-Rewari route, said that passengers had been demanding for a long time to reduce the increased fares in local trains. The railways has finally changed the numbers of these trains and converted them back into local trains. This is a big relief for daily passengers.
