Confirmed Tickets Update: Traveling by train is a difficult task because confirmed tickets are not easily available. But now there is good news for the passengers. In the coming years, all passengers will get confirmed tickets. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that in the next 5 years, any passenger traveling by train will easily get a confirmed ticket.
In a special conversation with news agency IANS, Ashwini Vaishnav said that in the last 10 years, PM Modi has made unprecedented changes in the Railways. In the next 5 years, PM Modi’s guarantee is that the capacity of the Railways will be increased so much that almost every passenger traveling can easily get a confirmed ticket.
31,000 kilometers of new railway tracks built from 2014 to 2024
Sharing an example of how Indian Railways has changed in the last decade, the Railway Minister said that in the process of building railway tracks, about 17,000 kilometers of tracks were built between 2004 and 2014. From 2014 to 2024, 31,000 kilometers of new tracks were built. “In the 10 years from 2004 to 2014, only about 5,000 km of railway track was electrified, whereas in the last 10 years an astonishing 44,000 km of railway track was electrified.”
54,000 coaches were made in the last 10 years
Ashwini Vaishnav further said, “Only 32,000 coaches were made from 2004-2014. 54,000 coaches were made in the last 10 years. At the same time, not even a single kilometer of corridor was made operational for freight transportation before 2014. Now, two Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFC) of 2,734 km have been commissioned.”
