Railway Reservation: Northern Railway has said that Delhi PRS service of Railways will remain closed for about 4.30 hours. During this period, reservation, cancellation, charting, inquiry service, internet booking and EDR service will remain closed.
Railway Reservation: Indian Railways works 24 hours to serve the passengers. This is the reason why Railways does not get time to do work related to maintenance and software upgrade. To carry out maintenance work, Railways has to take blocks from time to time. Something similar is going to happen on the midnight of 12th and 13th April. Northern Railway has informed that during this period, Delhi PRS service of Railways will remain closed from 11.45 am to 04.15 am. During these 4.30 hours, passengers will not be able to use reservation, cancellation, charting, inquiry service (139 and counter service), internet booking and EDR service.
Summer special trains announced
Indian Railways has announced to run summer special trains so that the passengers do not have to suffer due to the rush of train tickets and excessive crowd during the scorching heat. Vande Bharat Express special trains will run from Egmore to Nagercoil sector in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, while the Central Railway has also announced 16 additional weekly summer special train services, which will run between Mumbai and Karimnagar. Booking for summer special train 01067 has also started from April 8, 2024.
Central Railway will run 156 special trains
Apart from this, 156 summer special trains will also be run by Central Railway. These trains will run on Mumbai-Varanasi, Mumbai-Danapur, Mumbai-Samastipur, Mumbai-Prayagraj and Mumbai-Gorakhpur routes. 01053/01054 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Varanasi Weekly Special train will make 26 trips. 01409/01410 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Danapur bi-weekly special train will make 52 trips. 01045/01046 LTT-Prayagraj Superfast AC Weekly Special, 01043/01044 LTT Samastipur Weekly Special and 01123/01124 LTT-Gorakhpur Weekly Special will make 26 trips each.
These trains will run under Eastern Railway
Eastern Railway will run summer special train between Sealdah-Jagi Road. 03105 Sealdah – Jagi Road train will run every Friday from 12th April, 2024 to 28th June, 2024, while in return, 03106 Jagi Road – Sealdah will run from 13th April, 2024 to 29th June, 2024. Apart from this, Eastern Railway will also run a train between Howrah-Raxaul, whose train number is 03043/03044.
What arrangements did Konkan Railways make?
Konkan Railway will also run some summer special trains and it has been announced that all these trains will be run in coordination with Central Railway. 01463/01464 Lokmanya Tilak (T)-Kochuveli-Lokmanya Tilak (T) Special (Weekly) will also run during this period and will run via Thane, Panvel, Roha, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Sindhudurg, Madgaon Junction, Kumta, Kundapura, Udupi, Mangaluru. Junction, it will take halts at Kasaragod, Kannur, Calicut, Tirur, Shoranur Junction, Thrissur, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayankulam and Kollam Junction.
