Mumbai Railway Station Fire: A fire broke out in a restaurant located in the premises of Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) railway station in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon, although no one was injured in the incident. A Central Railway official said that the fire broke out in the Jan Aahar canteen located on platform number one of the LTT station at 3.45 pm. He said that at present there is no news of anyone being injured.
Black smoke rising from the roof of the station
A video of the alleged fire incident has surfaced on social media, in which black smoke can be seen rising from the roof of the railway station. Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, Dr. Shivraj Manaspure confirmed the fire in the Jan Aahar canteen and said that efforts are on to extinguish the fire.
Massive fire broke out in the canteen area
A massive fire broke out in the passenger waiting room and canteen area of platform number 1 of the crowded Lokmanya Tilak Terminus near Bandra-Kurla in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon. The officers provided this information. The fire was reported around 3 pm. Due to this, panic spread among the passengers present there and they immediately went out of the canteen and waiting area.
Mumbai Fire Brigade and other agencies reached the spot to control the fire. The cause of the fire has not been known. There is no information about any casualty in the incident. Senior officials of Central Railway have also reached the spot for inspection and assistance.
Central Railway said that the fire was extinguished by around 3.30 pm. More details are awaited.
