How to cancel counter ticket online?
- To cancel the offline ticket taken from the PRS counter, you have to visit the IRCTC website.
- Here you will get the option of cancel ticket. After clicking on it, you will get the option to cancel the counter ticket.
- Here you go to this website (https://www.operations.irctc.co.in/ctcan/SystemTktCanLogin.jsf).
- After this you will have to enter the security captcha along with the PNR number and train number given on the counter ticket.
- Then an OTP i.e. one time password will come on your mobile number, after entering which you will get the option to cancel the ticket.
- Keep in mind that this OTP will be received on the same mobile number which you have entered on the form while taking the counter ticket.
- Then you will get a dialogue box on the screen, after confirming which you will get the details of the passengers.
- After this, tap on the submit button and in this way your PRS counter ticket will be cancelled.
How to get refund?
To get refund of the ticket taken from PRS counter, you have to go to the nearest PRS counter. You will get the refund amount of the ticket only after depositing the cancelled ticket at the PRS counter.
Keep in mind that according to the rules of the railway, if you have cancelled a confirmed ticket, then you will have to go to the PRS counter and deposit the ticket 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train. On the other hand, if you cancel a waiting list or RAC ticket, you can get a refund by depositing the ticket at the PRS counter 30 minutes before the scheduled departure.
