Railway Water Limit: Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, Railways keeps issuing some important rules. And this time also an important update has come out. As you know, Vande Bharat provides 1 liter water bottle to passengers at the very beginning when traveling by premium Indian Railways trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi. But now passengers will not get 1 liter railway water bottles in Vande Bharat and Shatabdi trains. Instead, you will be given a packaged water bottle of 500 ml. Let us tell you why this has been done.

Why has this decision been taken?

Railways has taken this decision in accordance with various rules of water conservation, afforestation and water recycling. Apart from this, passengers will also have the option to ask for a 500 ml bottle from the train staff at no extra cost.

There won’t be much loss

This decision has been taken with the aim of reducing unnecessary use of bottled water. Also, we will be able to adjust to the use of this bottle in a short distance train like Vande Bharat. On the other hand, there are also premium trains like Rajdhani Express, which cover longer distances. In these premium trains, only 1 liter Rail Neer water bottle will be given to the passengers.

Bottles have been given in these trains before Vande Bharat

Earlier, 500 ml water bottles were given to passengers in Shatabdi Express trains. In trains traveling less than 8 hours, passengers will be given only 500 ml water bottles. This decision of Indian Railways has been taken keeping in mind water conservation. Besides, Railways has also constructed 158 reservoirs in which rain water will be collected. Not only this, Railways has also installed 3 automatic plants for cleaning the bogies, in which Railways will be able to save water.

How much do you have to pay for food in Vande Bharat?

  • If you want to drink only tea while travelling, it will cost you Rs 15.
  • If you are traveling in an executive chair car, and want to have breakfast, you will have to pay Rs 155. Which will also include the charge for your food.
  • Apart from this, if you are traveling in CC class of Vande Bharat, then you will have to pay Rs 1600 to 1700, in which you have to pay the cost of food separately in many trains.
  • If you are traveling in Vande Bharat’s EC class, it will cost you Rs 3015, which includes food charges.
