Railways has taken this decision to conveniently transport the passengers from outside the station to the platform, which has been implemented immediately.
According to Indian Railways, currently most of the crowd in the station is going to Maha Kumbh. These passengers enter the station from both Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate. The accident happened a day before only after the announcement of the train going to Prayagraj. Therefore, Indian Railways has taken a decision on entry and exit in the station with immediate effect.
The platform will remain fixed for the special train
According to Indian Railways, keeping in mind the crowd going to Maha Kumbh, all the special trains to Prayagraj will be run only from platform number 16. This station has been completely dedicated. Earlier, special trains were run from the platform which was empty. Due to this, passengers used to go to different platforms.
Change entry exit rules
Along with this, entry and exit have been fixed for this. Passengers who have to catch the train from platform 16 will have to use Ajmeri Gate side only. That is, passengers going by Prayagraj special trains will not be given entry from Paharganj. If you go to Paharganj by mistake, then you will have to come back to Paharganj.
Entry of those with confirmed tickets
Passengers who have taken confirmed tickets for other trains to go to Prayagraj can enter from both sides i.e. Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate.
Sangam station will remain closed till 26th
Indian Railways has now decided to close Sangam station till 26th February. Railways had earlier decided to keep the station closed till 14th and then till 16th February. But now the date has been extended.
