Railways Fare Cut: Lakhs of passengers traveling daily have been given a big relief by the Railway Board. The minimum fare for the train has again been reduced to Rs 10. For the last three years, Railways had kept the minimum fare at Rs 30. Due to this, passengers had to pay three times the amount even to go to one station.
This decision of Rail Board will benefit lakhs of daily commuters of the country including Delhi-NCR. Train is considered a cheap means of transportation in the country. This is the reason why lakhs of daily commuters travel by passenger trains every day. Before Corona arrived in the year 2020, the minimum fare in local trains was Rs 10, but when trains started operating after Corona, the minimum fare was reduced to Rs 30. Due to this, daily commuters had to pay three times the fare. However, passengers had many times demanded to reduce the fare. Instructions have been given by the Railway Board that a minimum fare of Rs 10 will be charged from the passengers. The UTS app, including the local ticket booking software, has also been updated.
Express was running instead of local train
Sources said that the trains being operated by the Railways after Corona were described as mail and express. The minimum fare in such trains is Rs 30. During this period, operation of local (normal) class trains was stopped, but now they are being run. Due to this the minimum fare has again become Rs 10. This decision will benefit lakhs of daily commuters of the country including Delhi-NCR.
