Can you travel in another train?

According to the rules of Indian Railways, if a passenger has a general coach ticket, he can travel by another train. In this situation, the category of the train such as Vande Bharat, Superfast, Rajdhani Express etc. also matters. However, if the passenger has a reserved ticket, then in such a situation, the same ticket cannot be used for traveling in another train. In such a situation, do not travel on another train with the same ticket even by mistake because in case of being caught, you may be fined.

How to apply for refund

You can apply for refund if you miss the train. For this, log in to IRCTC app and file TDR. You have to click on the train option. After this you have to click on the file TDR option. The option of file TDR will come in front of you. After clicking, the ticket will appear, on which you can file TDR. Select your ticket and click on File TDR. After selecting the reason for TDR, TDR will be filed. You will get refund within 60 days.

How to get refund on ticket cancellation

According to the rules of the railways, if you cancel a confirmed train ticket within 48 hours and 12 hours before the scheduled departure time, then up to 25% of the total amount will be deducted. If you cancel the ticket between 4 hours and 12 hours before the scheduled departure time of the train, then half the amount of the ticket i.e. 50% will be deducted. Waitlist and RAC tickets must be cancelled 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the train, otherwise you will not get a refund.
