Indian Railways has launched Biometric Token Machine. Keeping in mind the safety and precaution of the passengers in Corona, this machine has been started. This machine has been launched by South Central Railway at Secunderabad railway station. This is the first such machine to be installed at Secunderabad station.
Passengers have to face huge crowd while boarding in the general compartment. Railway administration also has to make efforts to control this crowd. During the Corona period, it is not appropriate that the railway stations thronged the railway stations and the passengers flout the rule of two yards. In view of this, the system of Biometric Token Machine has been started to make boarding in the train easier.
What will be the benefit of token
A token will be generated for each passenger from this machine and with the help of the same token, the passengers will board the train on their own turn. Keep in mind that this arrangement is for the completely unreserved compartment as the passengers in the reserved class know in advance which coach to sit in which seat. Therefore, the crowd in the reserve class is automatically controlled. There is no such arrangement in the unreserved class and people gather together. Due to this, there may be more danger in the corona period. So South Central Railway has started this biometric machine.
Get rid of congestion
The biometric machine has been launched in view of the high crowd and occasional fights while boarding the train. This machine keeps a record of each passenger’s name, PNR number, train number and destination. This information has to be given to the passenger on the machine. After this the biometric machine will capture your photo and finger print. After giving all this information, the machine will generate a token. Serial number and coach number are written on this token. The passenger has to sit on the seat mentioned according to the coach number.

Since the passengers will get the coach number in advance, they will not have to stand in the queue for hours and wait to board the train. From the biometric machine, the passenger will know only while taking the token in which coach to sit, then he will go near the station or train only when it comes.
There will be no crowd on the platform
Right now, general class passengers are seen gathering at stations several hours in advance as they worry about boarding the train and avoiding the crowds. Once the passenger gets the token, he will go to the platform 15 minutes before the train starts and will comfortably enter his coach. Token machine will reduce the need and work of Railway Protection Force because the police force has to do more work in administrative work. The biometric machine was first launched on 14 September 2021. Very soon another biometric machine will also be installed at Secunderabad station.
