New Delhi. From December, people traveling in general class in trains are going to get relief. They will not need to travel by hanging or pushing. Indian Railways is going to increase the facilities of those traveling in this class. Railways has started the work and the deadline has been set till November. In this way, from next month, people traveling in general class will have more chances of getting a seat than before.
According to the Railway Ministry, continuous steps are being taken to provide comfortable travel to the passengers traveling in general class. In this direction, the number of general coaches is being increased in regular trains. In the month of November, more than one thousand general coaches will be added to about 370 regular trains. According to an estimate, about one lakh passengers will benefit from the addition of new general coaches of the Railways every day. The work of installing general coaches has started.
New coaches are being made in two coach factories
Railway Board Executive Director Dilip Kumar said that new coaches of general class are being made in two factories. Coach manufacturing work is going on at a fast pace in Integral Coach Factory Chennai and Raebareli Coach Factory. Railways has a plan to make 10000 general coaches in the next two years, which will enable about eight lakh additional passengers of general class to travel daily. All these coaches will be LHB i.e. more comfortable than before. One to three general coaches will be installed in trains as per requirement. In this way, there will be four general coaches in each train.
583 new coaches were made in three months
A total of 583 new coaches of general class have been made from July to October. These coaches have been added to 229 regular trains. Due to this, thousands of additional passengers traveling in general class daily are getting benefit. That is, they are traveling sitting.
