Railways made rules regarding smoking, dirt and eating habits, if not followed then heavy fine will be imposed

In order to ensure better services along with safe, pleasant and comfortable journey to the railway passengers, Prayagraj Division keeps running ticket checking campaign in stations and trains to curb ticketless travel, irregular travel, unbooked luggage and smoking.

In the ticket checking campaigns conducted in April 2024, 53,273 passengers were caught without tickets and Rs 4,82,81,696 was recovered. Rs 2,80,56,910 was recovered from 50,403 passengers caught on irregular journey. 1189 passengers were caught for littering and Rs 1,27,850 was recovered. 14 passengers were caught for smoking and a recovery of Rs 2800 was made and 263 passengers with unbooked luggage were charged and a recovery of Rs 39,370 was made. Among those who spread filth, there were many passengers who cooked food at home and after eating left the filth in the station or train, hence fine was imposed.

In this way, through ticket checking campaigns in April, a revenue of Rs 7,65,08,626 has been earned in Prayagraj division by charging 1,05,142 passengers without ticket, irregular travel, unbooked luggage, smoking, littering etc., which is expected to be Rs 7,65,08,626 in April 2023. 33.44 percent more than . Last year in April, revenue of Rs 5,73,34,964 was earned by charging 88,247 passengers.
