What is the new rule of gold?
Earlier, passengers could sleep for a maximum of 9 hours during night journeys. But now this time has been reduced to 8 hours. Earlier, passengers were allowed to sleep in AC coaches and sleepers from 9 pm to 6 am. But according to the rules changed by the Railways, now you will be able to sleep only from 10 pm to 6 am. That means now the sleeping time has reduced to 8 hours.
This change will be applicable in all those trains which have sleeping arrangement. If you also travel by train, you will have to follow the new sleeping time. Apart from this, if during the train journey, any passenger from upper or middle berth is sitting on your berth late at night,
So you may have trouble sleeping. According to the rules, you can ask these passengers to go to their berths between 10 pm to 6 am. Similarly, if a passenger from the middle berth opens his berth during the day, you can refuse him.
New Night Rules of Railways
No passenger can talk loudly on mobile in his seat, compartment or coach. Without earphones no passenger can listen to loud music. After 10 pm, no passenger will be allowed to switch on any light except night light. Online meals in train services will not be served after 10 pm.
However, you can pre-order your meal or snack on the train even at night with the e-Catering service. Additionally, smoking, drinking and carrying out any inflammable objects are not allowed in the train coaches and are against Indian Railways rules.
