Indian Railway Ticket Booking: Indian Railways is continuously expanding and improving its services for the convenience of passengers. Recently Railways has changed many of its rules. While Railways changed the rules regarding waiting and cancellation charges for RAC tickets, it also changed the rules regarding water bottles given to passengers in Vande Bharat trains. Now Railways has started a new facility for unreserved and platform tickets also. The new facility will provide relief to passengers booking general tickets and platform tickets.
New facility of ticket booking
Railways has given great relief to the railway passengers traveling on unreserved tickets. Railways has started a new facility in UTS i.e. Unreserved Ticket System. Under the new rule, you will now be able to book unreserved ticket tickets from any railway station from anywhere. Railways has taken this decision to make ticket booking convenient. Times of India quoted Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria as saying that passengers can book unreserved tickets and platform tickets from any station through the mobile app.
Booking general and platform tickets became easier
Keeping in view the convenience of passengers, the restriction of outer limit geo fencing distance for both journey ticket and platform ticket in UTS on mobile app has been abolished with immediate effect. This means that now you can book your general and platform tickets for any railway station from anywhere. Let us tell you here that Railways has not made any changes in the internal limit of geo fencing. This means that if you are near the station, ticket booking will be allowed from outside the station premises only.
What facilities will the passengers get?
Currently the restriction of outer border geo fencing distance for booking tickets through UTS on mobile app is 20 km. That is, any passenger can book general or platform tickets only within a distance of 20 km of that railway station, but now the Railways has removed this outer limit. Passengers will benefit from this. With the removal of this restriction, you will be able to book general and platform tickets from home or office, from anywhere. You will be able to book tickets from any station to any station. It is noteworthy that Railways provides the facility to book UTS tickets from mobile phones with internet connection. By booking tickets with its help, you do not need to stand in long queues to book platform tickets or unreserved tickets.
