Railway Minister made an announcement regarding middle class and low income families, now this facility will be available

Due to continuous rail accidents happening one after the other in the country, serious questions have been raised on the safety of the passengers. Whatever may be the reason of the accident, but keeping in mind the interests of the passengers, Railways has started a special service. Let’s know about it

We are talking about the travel insurance provided with the ticket, which provides insurance coverage up to ₹ 10 lakh for just 35 paise. The option of travel insurance is available at the time of ticket booking through the official site or app of IRCTC. This is not mandatory, but considering the uncertainties, it can prove beneficial.

Now you can claim for insurance coverage if you get injured or die in a train accident. According to the travel insurance rules of IRCTC, there is a provision of claim up to ₹ 10 lakh if the insured passenger becomes seriously disabled in a train accident and up to ₹ 7.5 lakh in case of partial disability. Travel insurance has a provision for a claim of up to ₹ 2 lakh for seriously injured passengers and up to ₹ 10,000 in case of minor injuries.

Now the question is when is this claim received? So let us tell you that you can make a claim within 4 months of the train accident. You can make a claim on the official site or office of the company from which you have got travel insurance.

Take special care of one thing. Do not forget to enter the name of the nominee in travel insurance while booking tickets. This makes it easier to take claims. Earlier, the choice of travel insurance completely depended on the passengers, but now if you do not take travel insurance, then this option is automatically added to the ticket. If you want, you can also deny it.
